Interviews from the Underground producer Phillip Alloy first became aware of Russia’s World War II Jewish resistance movement while conducting genealogical research in the former Soviet republic of Belarus.


	"I was 17 years old when I joined the partisans. They gave me weapons. The first fight was on the 7th of November 1942. The Germans wanted to surround our partisan group. There were more Germans than partisans. There was a very huge fight. Many people were killed and my friend was wounded."
	"While I was in school before the war we learned how to shoot. There was an award given to the shooter who got the highest score. I won the highest score. When I participated in the fights I shot many Germans. I was glad to participate and kill Germans."
